Mission:
The Pleasant Hill Volunteer Fire Department will proudly and continuously protect life, property, and the enviroment from fire, medical emergencies, natural disasters, and other emergencies for those who live, work and travel in and through our Fire District and surrounding districts with competent, professional, and honest personnel.

We are a small Volunteer Fire Department located at: 2156 Comer Road, Comer, Georgia 30629, in North Central Oglethorpe County, approx. 3 miles south of Comer, GA. on State Route 22. At the present time our ISO rating is a 9. There are approx. 1800 residents in our community. We are part of 14 Fire Departments located thoughout our county. Our neighboring departments are Carlton VFD, Comer VFD, Colbert VFD,(The 3 preceeding Departments are in Madison County), Beaverdam VFD, Devils Pond VFD, and Sandy Cross VFD.  We average 30-40 calls per year. This includes:

Fires
; Structural, Grass, Vehicle, HAZ-MAT and Woods
Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVA)
Hazdardous Materials Incidents (HAZ-MAT)
Mutual-Aid to surrounding departments
Rescue / Extrication
EMS related

We cover the communities of Pleasant Hill, Watson Mill, and Smithonia. Some of the "places of interest" within our Fire District are:
Watson Mill State Park
Tucker Plantation (Smithonia)
Beaverdam Farms (Smithonia)

We have several large farms, large event arenas in the Smithonia Community, and a very rural population within our Fire District. Our Department meetings are held every Monday at 7PM, with work details as needed.
