Pleasant Hill VFD Members

The members with Pleasant Hill Volunteer Fire Department work full time jobs, have families, friends, hobbies, and then there is the Department. These men and women within our Department take time away from thier families and friends to help a total stranger that is in need of fire protection, Emergency Medical Services, rescueing when involved in a motor vehicle accident, participate in fund raisers, maintain the equipment we have, maintain the station, and maintain a good relationship with our community as well. The members are all volunteers. No one is paid to perform the duties of a firefighter at this Station. Our Members are trained in a wide variety of fire, rescue and EMS specialties. To Be a Firefighter within our Deparment a member must obtain the following within 18 months of joining the department; Basic Firefighter MOD 1 class, Must complete HAZ-MAT Awareness level course, Maintain a CPR certification, Must have started the National Incident Management System,(NIMS) training, (IS-100, IS-200, IS-700). In addition to the usual fire suppression duties, we also respond to a number of other emergency calls. Some of our members are trained as First Responder to help the EMS in our county. Some members are also trained in other specialty areas including; Rescue Specialist, vehicle extrication, confined space rescue, high angle rescue, and Trench Rescue.
Our Depatrment members are agressive and wanting to learn all that they can to help the community and be prepared to handle any type of Incident / Disaster that may occur.
